Everything about Injipuli totally explained

Injipuli is a dark brown Keralite curry made of ginger, green chillies and jaggery. It is also known as Puli inji in some parts of Kerala, south India.
   It is served as part of the Sadhya.

Recipe

Method 1

Kerala style

Ingredients
  • Ginger - 2 piece
  • Small onion - 5
  • Green Chilly - 3
  • Mustard - one pinch
  • Red chilly powder - 1 tablespoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • cucom (Kodampuli) - 1 flake (sliced)
  • oil - 3 tablespoon
  • Salt and curry leaves required
Preparation
  • Heat the oil and split the mustard.
  • Saute the small onion slices, green chilly, ginger [verysmall slices] and curry leaves.
  • Keep the flame low and add chilly powder, turmeric, and salt.
  • Add one cup water and Kodampuli.
  • Stir it and thicken the gravy.Further Information
